Details of Admission Procedures :

1. The rank list will be prepared after considering all the three following factors:

  • Common Medical Entrance Test, conducted by the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Deemed University).
  • Marks in P+C+B, secured in the Higher Secondary (Pre degree/12 standard /equivalent) examination conducted by recognised Boards.
  • Personal interview.
2. Candidates securing rank position up to 200 (in "a" and "b" above) will be called for personal interview by post on 16th June. Getting the call letter does not guarantee admission. That will depend on the final rank position after considering the interview marks.


3. The interview for general seats will be held between 1st and 5th July 2003.

4. The vacant seats, if any, will be filled at the discretion of the management.

5. Candidates called for interview must produce the following:
  • Hall ticket of AIMS entrance examination.
  • Proof of date of birth.
  • Original mark certificate of the qualifying examination.
6. Regular classes will commence on 28 July 2003.

 

Instructions for Filling Out Application Form :

1. Forms must be filled in by candidate's own handwriting, by using capital letters.

2. Keep a photocopy of the filled application for future reference.

3. Any discrepancy in the statements or submission of incomplete forms will lead to rejection of application.

4. Photograph: Paste your recent photographs in 3 places. One in front of the application form; the second one on the hall ticket and the third one on the attendance sheet. The photographs must be attested by the Head of the institution where you last studied or where you are at present studying, or by a Gazetted officer. The signature and official seal of the attesting authority should be placed at the bottom part of the photograph and the photograph should not be defaced.

5. One application form may be used either for general seat or for NRI category. Candidates desiring to apply to both categories should use two separate forms.

6. Centre of Examination: Give your choice of the Test Centre from where you would like to appear for the test. Please note that requests for change of examination centre will not be entertained. If there are not enough candidates in one particular centre, the candidates opted for that centre will be re-allocated to another centre.

7. Name of Applicant: Write your name in capital letters, as it appears in your marks card of the qualifying examination. Leave one blank box between words.

8. Date of birth: Enter the date, month and year of your birth as recorded in 10th standard certificate.

9. Qualifying examination: Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination can also write the Amrita Entrance Test. However, they should produce the mark list of qualifying examination before 10th June 2003. If not, they will not be considered for preparing the merit list.

10. Write your full name in the hall ticket and attendance sheet. The name should be as it appears in the application. Write the complete postal address in the hall ticket. The Hall Ticket will be mailed to this address only.

11. Signature: Candidates should sign in the application form and in the Hall Ticket. Parent should sign in the application form. Unsigned applications will be rejected.

12. Signature: Candidates should not sign in the Attendance Sheet now; but only at the time of examination in front of the invigilator.

13. In the Hall Ticket and in the Attendance Sheet, the space for Hall Ticket number will be filled by the Principal's office. The candidates should not fill these columns.

14. In the Hall Ticket and in the Attendance Sheet, the column for "Centre allotted" will be filled up by the Principal's office. The candidates should not fill these columns.

15. Those who are desirous to be considered in the "weaker sections" should produce the appropriate documents to establish their claim.

16. NRI candidates need not send the Hall Ticket and Attendance Sheet.

2. By sending a request in plain paper by post to the Manager, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin-682026, along with a DD for Rs. 500, in favour of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, payable at Cochin.

3. By downloading the application form (downloads are free):

After downloading, forms should be printed and filled out by hand. Candidate should apply in the hard copy, along with a DD for Rs.1400, in favour of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, payable at Cochin.

4. PIO students can apply in plain paper, along with attested copies of mark lists and certificates, with a processing fee of US $500, in favour of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, payable at Cochin, India.
