Direct Admission to Ph.D. programme 2003- 2004

 

The University admits a limited number of candidates directly to Ph.D. programme in various areas of research in the,

1. School of Life Sciences.
2. Centre for Biotechnology.
3. Centre for Molecular Medicine.

Eligibility : 

  • Only those who have either obtained an M.Phil. Degree with Minimum Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6.00 in 10 point scale/comparable standard where grading is based on system other than 10 point scale or have research experience in recognised Universities/ Research Institutions and/or

  • Research publications comparable to M.Phil standard in relevant discipline are eligible to apply for direct admission to Ph.D. programme.

  • For admission to Centre for Molecular Medicine, candidates with MBBS with one year experience or MD, MVSc are also eligible.

  • For admission to Bioinformatics Centre SIT, candidates with Advanced Diploma (Post-Graduate) in Bioinformatics are also eligible.

Application Forms together with Prospectus can be had either personally from the office of Deputy Registrar (CEEB) (Room No.31, Administrative Block) on cash payment of Rs. 110/- per set from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. on working days (Monday to Friday) or by sending a request along with crossed Bank Draft/Pay Order for Rs. 180/- payable to Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, along with a self-addressed unstamped envelope of 28*20 cms size with the words "Direct Admission to Ph.D. Programme" inscribed on it.

Last Date for receipt of completed Application Forms : April 1,2003..
