Yes, Capsiplex features a formulation of chili and capsicum –and its makers claim this new slimming pill can burn as many calories as 80 minutes of walking or jogging for 25 minutes.
Clinical trials at the University of Oklahoma has shown adults taking Capsiplex burned off 278 more calories before, during and after a bout of exercise than those on placebos.The Capsiplex advertising campaign launched Monday in the UK employs the clever catchphrase “Slim At Your Desk” and has been touted as being the slimming product of 2010.
The drug seeks to use capsaicinoids, a group of compounds which cause the heat found in hot peppers.
In fact over the past 30 years studies including animal and human subjects prove the enormous potential of red hot peppers and capsicum as a safe and effective nutritional ingredient to support weight management, it is claimed.
A spokesman for Capsiplex said: "For decades, scientists have known about the weight-loss potential of red-hot peppers. The problem has been the ability to consume such a highly concentrated amount, but we have overcome this by putting a protective coating on the ingredients which stops any gastric irritation."
The drug manufacturer's website says - “Using a proprietary patented matrix of excipients and coatings, Capsiplex capsicum extract gives users the maximum effectiveness of capsaicinoids without any oral or gastric irritation...

Capsiplex breaks down completely in the Intestine, which means no discomfort upon voiding.”
The pills are already used in the United States by personal trainers because chilli and capsicum help speed up the metabolism, meaning people can lose weight more rapidly. Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt and Britney Spears are said to have used the pill.
