A new i-Phone application may curb binge drinking among young people. As part of its research into strategies against alcohol abuse, the new iPhone drinks-counter application could help reduce their alcohol intake.
"It's something they can use in a nightclub, logging what they drink, where and how much alcohol," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Angela White, of the Centre for Youth Substance Abuse Research, as saying.

White is working with the University of Queensland in developing the application, OnTrack.

Unlike other drink-counter applications, OnTrack is aimed at newly legal drinkers between 18-24 years in Australia.

According to the latest annual alcohol poll from 'The Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation', one in four youngsters consume six or more standard drinks in an average session.
