Scientists studied 200 low performing middle school students and found that students who did meditation twice a day showed significant academic improvement in all areas. The meditating group showed 41% increase in at least one level in math compared to only 15% of the non-meditating group.
Teachers who were part of the survey said meditation also resulted in calmer, happier and less hyper students.
