A group of Taiwanese researchers have claimed that regular visits to your dentist may reduce the risk of heart disease.

They found that those who regularly visited dentists had a 25 percent lower risk of heart disease and a 13 percent lower risk of suffering from strokes.
Presenting the data at the American Heart Association meeting in Orlando on Sunday, lead researcher Dr Zu-Yin Chen, who is a cardiology fellow at Veterans General Hospital in Taipei, said, “Protection from heart disease and stroke was more pronounced in participants who got tooth scaling at least once a year.”
