A 13-year-old Italian boy was diagnosed with PlayStation addiction, when his father rushed him to hospital finding him unresponsive to his surroundings.
Lorenzo Amato father was afraid that the little boy had suffered a stroke or brain trauma.Even doctors at Lecce hospital, Southern Italy, initially thought that Lorenzo was suffering from a severe brain disorder, as the teenager would not speak or understand anything going on around him.
The doctors seeing him diagnosed the condition only after finding out that the kid had just finished a marathon session on his new PlayStation.
"They eventually managed to take care of him once they understood that this was a strange kind of mental detachment connected to his PlayStation," the Telegraph quoted Local politician Antonio Buccoliero, who spoke to the doctors, as saying.
After receiving treatment, Lorenzo asked his father to dispose of the computer games system.
