Raids in various parts of old Delhi were carried out by the Delhi government in association with the department of prevention of food adulteration (PFA) and Delhi police to check adulteration. The department raided the premises of 6 wholesale traders and picked up samples of black pepper, turmeric powder and masoor dal which will now be tested urgently in the government laboratory.
Delhi health minister said that the raids were carried out with an aim to eliminate adulteration in food items after they had received complaints from several consumers. The government has assured to take strict action against the guilty traders.
