Budhia Is Fine, Government-constituted Medical Board Reports False

A Cardiologist working for a private medical college described the Budhia’s medical board report as 'quite premature'.

A Cardiologist working for a private medical college described the Budhia’s medical board report as ‘quite premature’.

A panel of Government doctors who had examined the budding marathon runner, warned him against running such long distances. According to the report of the government-constituted medical board, the kid’s clinical parameters such as serum urea, serum ALKP (alkaline phosphatase) and serum potassium levels were higher. In view of high blood pressure, the doctors had further highlighted that his health was indeed compromised.

Unconvinced by the reports, Biranchi Das, Budhia’s coach, also a judo trainer subjected him to another battery of tests at the hi-tech medical college. After seeing the medical reports, Dr P K Pradhan, Professor and Head of Department of Cardiology of the Medical College, dismissed the panel report, describing it as 'quite premature' and 'not scientific'.

He further added that the wonder kid had only suffered from heat and exhaustion during the controversial 65 km run from Jaganath temple in Puri to Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa, on the 2nd of May.

Pradhan also said there was ‘There was no evidence of any impending renal or cardiac involvement at present as per the report. After running 65 km, his parameters are all right and he is conditioned to take up long distance running,’ concluded Dr. Pradhan.

’This proves my contention that Budhia is hale and hearty and is fit to run. A conspiracy is on against the boy,’ said the much relieved Biranchi Das.
