"There are 60 clinics all across India which use Zyoptix technology to treat eye ailments. The technology can be upgraded to Zyoptix Aspherix which further reduces post Lasik surgery glare, halos and night vision problems," Bausch and Lomb India Director-Surgical business Rajat Goel told reporters here.The company had recently installed the new technology at an eye care clinic, Centre for Sight, in New Delhi.
"We have treated about 22 eyes through this technology and have recieved enthusiastic response for the technology so far," Centre for Sight Chairman and Senior Consultant Opthalmology Mahipal Singh Sachdev said.
A person can be treated for vision disorders for about Rs 35,000 through this technology, Sachdev added.
Zyoptix equipment would cost Rs two crore in the Indian market and can be upraded to Zyoptic Aspheric through a simple software, Bausch and Lomb Asia Director Ng Yi Kheong said.
"Based on our latest global study findings on Zyoptix Aspheric, we are now working closely with Indian eye hospitals to upgrade their existing Lasik technology to Zyoptix Aspheric to bring the advantages as soon as possible," Kheong said.
