Palmist Claims to Diagnose Ailments Looking At Your Palm

Thiruvananthapuram: Can reading a palm help in diagnosing health ailments. so claims a Palmist from Kerala.

Mohanan a palmist believes palmistry is a pure science. The 44 year old chemistry teacher by profession but he reads people's palms and predicts their health conditions. His accurate predictions have even baffled the best doctors.

After studying the lines and mounts of a person's hand, Mohanan can accurately predict the ailments afflicting the person and also what diseases could affect him in future. He also suggests remedial measures just like a professional doctor.

As a 14-year-old teenager Mohanan hated palmistry, but today he is a popular palmist whose expert opinion is sought by Indian politicians, film stars and even doctors.

"As a boy I felt palmistry was nothing but fraud. But before calling it a bluff, I decided to study it," Mohanan told IANS.

"For 10 years I was a student of the famous palmist Velayudhan Nair who hails from Thiruvananthapuram. After a decade of learning the art of palmistry from him, I became convinced that palmistry is a pure science.

"I decided to use it not just for predicting the fortunes of people, but also to concentrate on the health aspect."

Mohanan explained just like the zodiac signs that are used in astrology, a person's palm is divided into various segments.

"The mount of Venus spells out the sexual activity of a person. Likewise the mounts of Mercury and Saturn reveal the neurological health, while the mount of Jupiter is associated with the ear, nose and lungs," he said.

"The ophthalmic segment is revealed in the mount of Apollo, and the mount of Moon predicts abdominal and urinary problems."

However, Mohanan is yet to make use of his talent commercially and instead takes classes in palmistry for those interested.

"More than 1,000 people have studied under me, including doctors. The duration of the course is six months with 30 hours devoted to the basics of palmistry."

Vouching for Mohanan's skills, N. Venugopal, an ayurveda doctor, said he (Mohanan) helped him identify the ailments of at least half a dozen people who did not reveal their health problems to him.

"A patient had come with a problem of erectile dysfunction. After a round of treatment, this patient had a chance meeting with Mohanan, who read his palm and suggested that he was a diabetic patient, which he had hid from me.

"After putting him through a test and new medicines, his problem was over," said Venugopal.

Apart from the mounts, the intricate lines on hands are vital indicators for Mohanan to identify the physical traits of an individual.

Those with a weak heart and those under the influence of drugs can be easily identified. Around 20 diseases can be easily read through the mounts and lines.

"Currently I have asked doctors in a few medical colleges to give a copy of the right palm of patients who come to their hospitals," said Mohanan.

"For each specific case of the same ailment, I want at least 500 palms. This is going to be my path-breaking academic work to clear the doubts of those who do not believe me.

"I will prove it scientifically and will come out with all details. It is going to take some time," he said.
