Choosing the Horoscope of Your Baby

Expecting parents decide the time of their child by consulting with an astrologer and then go in for a caesarean.

There is a sudden increase in parents choosing the time of delivery rather than waiting for the delivery to happen. This scenario is off late very common in Ranchi (Jharkhand).

When the lady is in her ninth month, the first thing her husband and her family members do is to consult a famous astrologer. He decides on the most propitious date and time for the delivery of the baby. The family members then discuss the dates with the doctors and prefer a caesarean.

The gynaecologists see to it that the health of the baby and the mother are not compromised and then do the operation. They also welcome the new approach as it brings in a lot of money.

In case of a normal delivery the patient has to stay in the hospital for a day whereas in case of a caesarean she has to be hospitalized for a period of seven days spending 20,000-30,000.

In some cases the family members put pressure on the doctor to deliver the baby on that particular date and time even if the patient can go in for a normal delivery because they believe that the baby’s future should not be compromised at an cost.

They even go to such minute details of taking the stars in to consideration and want the delivery on that particular time frame.

Whatever said and done the new system is here to stay because both the doctors as well as the astrologers are benefited along with the common man.

But the doctors also express that they maintain safety and precautionary measures for both the mother and the child by analyzing whether the date and time mentioned by the family members fall after the ninth month of gestation. Only if the date falls after the ninth month and they make sure that there are no possible risks involved they go about with the caesarean.

Statistics show that previously one or two such cases were reported but now as high as twenty such cases are reported.
