 Eligibility Criteria

Age 17 yrs on 31 December of the year of admission. Academic qualification: 12 yrs Senior Secondary with Phy, Chem, Biol and English securing 60% (50% for SC/ST) aggregate marks in these subjects.

 Procedure

The prospectus alongwith application form may be obtained in person or by post from the Assistant Controller, Examination Section, AIIMS, New Delhi-29 on payment of Rs.350 (Rs.250 for SC and ST candidates) through bank draft drawn on State Bank of India
 Selection Procedure

Merit in All India Entrance Examination conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Calcutta, Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Chennai; provided there are sufficient number of candidates at each centre. 
 Admission  All India basis.
 Course fee  Tuition fee Rs.300 pa. (approximately)
 Scholarship  2 merit scholarships & freeships to undergraduate.
 Research work

At AIIMS research is not just a routine activity but rather a mission with three objectives. As anywhere else, the primary purpose of research is to gratify curiosity by disciplined activity, thereby leading to creation of new knowledge.
 Library

The library, named after the first Director of the Institute, is a treasure house having 61423 books, 53547 journals and 14008 reports in the field of Biomedical Sciences.The library receives 490 journals and 80 newsletters every year.
 Hostel Facility

6 hostels for boys and 2 hostels for girls and 1 hostel for married persons. Residence is optional. The residents are provided with single room furnished accommodation. Hostel rent is about Rs.40 pm. Boarding and lodging Rs.275 pm (approx).
 Other Information

The Institute has following centres for Research in various branches of medical sciences: Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital, Centre for Community Medicine, Central for Research and Training in Human Reprod.
House Jobs - Internees are paid Rs.4,000 pm; Junior Residents Rs.9,400 pm.
