Hindi name: Madua or mangal
Tamil name: Ragi
Ingredients:
Ragi flour – 2 cups
Onion – 1 chopped
Sesame oil – 10 ml
Rock salt Water – sufficient quantity
Preparation
- Add two pinches of salt to the ragi flour and mix.
- Add chopped & fried onion
- Gradually add warm water to the flour and knead the dough.
- Keep it aside for ½ an hour
- Divide the dough into small balls.
- Flatten the balls one by one into thin chapattis with your hands on a smooth surface. Use little oil to prevent sticking.
- Roast the chapatti on a heated mud pan
- Add a spoon of sesame oil around the corners and roast it evenly on both sides.
