Basis of Homeopathy - Drug Proving - More

What do we learn from Drug Proving?

The homoeopathic drug proving has brought out the following facts: Each drug (or medicine) affects a person (or prover) as a whole, from head to foot, manifesting a group of signs and symptoms.

Each drug's manifestations are different from the manifestations of the other drugs. Hence each drug has its own individuality.

The different potencies of the drug produce different symptoms in the prover. Hence the same medicine has opposite action in different potency. For example Belladonna in crude form produce congestion and in minute homeopathic potency helps to relieve the congestion.

The knowledge of Drug Proving helps in understanding and treating the patients The above when applied to the diseased person, gives us the following two facts: Each patient falls sick as a whole, manifesting a group of signs and symptoms from head to toe including his feelings.

Each patient's manifestations are different from that of the other patients. Hence each patient has his own INDIVIDUALITY. For example one patient with typhoid may have thirst and the other with the same disease may not. Both suffering from the same Typhoid require different medicines. A cure is possible only by administering a medicine whose individuality is similar to the patient's individuality.
