Dysphagia is a condition that essentially means the difficulty in swallowing. When this condition is associated with pain then it is referred to as Odynophagia. This difficulty in swallowing may be restricted to liquids alone or solids alone or to both solids and liquids. As a long-term consequence to this condition there is a reduction in the intake of fluids or solids by the patient which further results in dehydration and malnutrition, slowly affecting the other parts of the body and resulting in other systemic ailments.
