A 20-month old boy in Cambodia has been forced to directly suckle milk from a cow after his parents left him alone with his grandfather and went in search for work.

Tha Sophat, who lives in village of Pheas in Siem Reap province, became ill after he stopped breast feeding from his mother.

He then saw a calf suckle milk from a cow and has started doing the same since July. His grandfather said that other villagers did not like this and complained him to stop the boy from doing it.

However he said that when he stopped Sophat from suckling the milk, he started to cry and he had no option but to let him continue. The grandfather added that Sophat is now growing strong and does not suffer from diarrhea.
