33 Percent Workers Won't Take Leave Despite Having Cold: Study
One in three workers will come to office despite having cold, says recent survey.
The survey of 10,000 workers by the makers of cold remedy Kaloba also found that only one in 10 health staff and teachers would take a day off.
Dr Michael Dixon, GP and chairman of the NHS Alliance, told the Mirror that when it comes to a cold or the flu, people are at our most contagious at the first sneeze.
He asserted that at this stage the damage to the people around us has often already been done - the incubation period for the virus can be up to two days before symptoms occur.
Dixon said that employees and employers should be diligent in preventing the spread of infection and should employ the NHS 'Catch it, Bin it, Kill it' policy.
He said that if people are suffering from cold and flu symptoms, then they should stay at home, rest, drink plenty of fluids to help increase their recovery time and prevent the spread of infection.
