True to Medicall's tag line, if you're a doctor but not at your clinic or a hospital, you should have been at Medicall. India's largest medical expo, Medicall 2015 was a 3-day event that had thousands of people from various fields of medicine converging at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakam.

The brainchild of Dr.S.Manivannan, Founder-Director of Kauvery Hospitals, Medicall 2015 had more than 700 exhibitors from all across the country and a few even from China and Germany too. From hospital gowns, beds, trays, stethoscopes, ultrasound machines, X-Ray, surgical equipments, ambulances and first-aid kits to anti-bacterial laundry detergents, oxygen masks & tanks, gurneys and everything that hospitals or doctors require for patient care was available at Medicall 2015.

But it's not just the wares and services that bring doctors, hospital owners and the management to Medicall. It's the intellectually stimulating and highly interactive and responsive seminar sessions called BrainStorm Medicall',where doctors learn to manage hospitals.

Medical colleges in India do not teach doctors or medical professionals about hospital management. Management, as a subject, finds no place in the medical curriculum. That's why many small hospitals in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities are being sold off as real estate properties.

The seminar sessions at Medicall 2015 covers useful topics like lean six sigma in healthcare, costing for hospitals, workshop on NABH pre-accreditation entry level for hospitals, succession planning, HR in Hospitals, IT: Workshop in social media, SEO and mobile apps for healthcare. The sessions were packed to full capacity and showcased some of the most illustrious names in the field of medicine like Dr.Sunil Shroff, urologist and a managing trustee of the MOHAN Foundation, Venkata Phanidar, Chief Consultant & CEO Sasta Healthcare Solutions, Nishith Mohanty, Global HR Head Manipal Hospitals Group, Joy Chakraborti, CEO of Hinduja Hospitals, and Dr.J Mariano Anto Bruno Mascarenhas, neurosurgeon, MMC & Rajiv Gandhi Govt Hospital.

The 3-day Expo will soon hit the shores of Mumbai on October 9.
