A new research has shown that absent minded kids have a sharper brain. Researchers concluded that children who are constantly distracted are able to hold far more information than their attentive peers.

During the study it was seen that children who appear to be constantly distracted have more 'working memory', giving them the ability to stay focused and do two things at the same time. Working memory is a mental workspace that allows us to juggle multiple thoughts simultaneously.

Lead author of the study, Daniel Levinson of University of Wisconsin-Madison said, "Those with higher working memory capacity reported more mind wandering during the simple tasks even though their performance was not compromised."

The study is published online in the journal Psychological Science.
