"Baby yoga" guru Lena Fokina has expressed hope that she can take her technique in the UK even as debate persists whether such a technique is healthy or harmful to the baby.

Ms Fokina, 51, is currently in Egypt where she is conducting the "Parenting the Deliberate Way" seminar in which parents from across the country bring their babies to perform the yoga. The technique involves spinning, swinging and flipping a baby, often by holding a single limb.

Even though many babies cry and vomit during the 5-minute sessions, Ms Fokina said that the technique is completely safe and is beneficial to the children.

Stating that the technique helps babies to develop physically and intellectually faster, Ms Fokina said, "The method was originally developed to cure and correct the health of children having muscular or skeletal problems but it is also suitable for healthy children. The movements are designed to improve their muscular abilities and development."
