Bikini waxing has led to the disappearance of pubic lice - crab shaped insects that can be found in human groins.

J Sisters Salon, famous for helping people get rid of pubic hair, is situated in Manhattan and is run by Jonice Padilha and her sisters Jocely, Janea, Joyce, Juracy, Jussara and Judeseia. Indeed they have a huge part to play in eradicating pubic lice.
This technique of removing pubic hair was introduced by them in 1994 after which there was no looking back. It catapulted them to fame and fortune. Their clientele includes celebrities with an enviable record of 200 clients each day.
Mainly its hygiene and comfort which appear to be the key reasons customers keep coming back.
“Pubic grooming has led to a severe depletion of crab louse populations,” said Ian F. Burgess, a medical entomologist with Insect Research & Development Ltd. in Cambridge, England. “Add to that other aspects of body hair depilation, and you can see an environmental disaster in the making for this species.”
