Students are always encouraged to devote themselves towards the principle of community service and be generous at Amity.

Organizing a blood donation camp is just another step in this direction.

Keeping this tradition alive, Amity University and the Rotary Blood Bank organized a two-day-long blood donation camp from October 16 to 17 at Amity campus here.

About 1509 people registered for blood donation, out of which, 818 candidates were able to donate blood as the donors went through a series of medical checkups before donating blood.

Donors were given refreshments and a certificate of appreciation for this service to humanity.

A confidential blood test report shall be provided to the donors by Rotary Blood Bank later. A DONOR's card was also provided to the Donors to facilitate them with an extraordinary service of getting blood units (of any blood group) whenever required for their immediate family members from the Rotary blood Bank in near future for one year.

Welcoming the august gathering, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh shared her views and said that everyone should donate blood as it replicates human values and social responsibility towards our society. "Blood can't be manufactured as other things can, it can only be given to save the lives" stressed Dr. Shukla.
