Brit Teachers Asked to Stop Swimming, Sex Education Classes During Ramadan
British head teachers have been asked to stop imparting sex education lessons during Ramadan to avoid offending Muslims in the country.
In a move to avoid offending Muslims in the UK, British head teachers have been requested to discontinue sex education lessons during Ramadan.
Bosses at Stoke-on-Trent Council are also likely to enforce strict rules to ban swimming lessons and even exams during the Muslim holy month.
They told schools not to hold parents' evenings or other social events after school because Muslims are allowed to break their fast in the evenings, the Daily Star reports.
Council bosses reckon that reproduction classes could inspire sexual thoughts, and swimming could see pupils swallowing water, which is not allowed during Ramadan.
But the Campaign Against Political Correctness slammed the new guidelines last night.
Co-founder John Midgley said: "Instead of meddling in this politically correct way, the local authority should trust the judgment of pupils, parents and teachers."
