British Teen Praised for Saving FIVE LIVES With Organ Donation
Elizabeth Ford, 18, had told her father a week before the fatal attack that she wanted her organs to be used to help others if she died.
On November 23, 2015, her family revealed how her wish was fulfilled.
Her organs helped save the lives of five, including an 18-year-old boy who suffered from severe heart problems.
‘Elizabeth Ford was just 18 when she passed away from severe asthma in October last year. Her organs helped save five lives, including an 18-year-old boy who suffered from severe heart disease.’
"I think in some ways it is a comfort to have given others a second chance. I only hope it inspires more people to sign up on the organ donation register and give somebody a chance of life. Lizzie was able to give life for five other people and if they survive and have children she will have helped give life to a lot of people which is a comforting thought for all of us," said her father David Ford.
The British teen girl was just 18 when she passed away from severe asthma in October last year. The keen baker and blogger was a perfectly healthy girl until she was diagnosed with the condition aged 15.
She spoke with her mother Lorna shortly before her death made the decision to donate her heart, kidneys, spleen and liver went to desperately ill people.
"It is quite humbling to think that there are a lot of people alive who wouldn't be there if it wasn't for Lizzie," Mr. Ford said.
