Britons Value Reading Among Favorite Activities: Study
A study found Britons still prefer reading among their top leisure activities while many modern-day youngsters may find it hard to think beyond visiting Facebook or listening to music as favourite pastimes.
Just over a third of people polled said reading was one of the top three activities they would find it hardest to live without. It was beaten only by television, cited by four in 10, Daily Express reported.
Reading was more popular than having a coffee or going for a walk, both of which received less than a fifth of the vote.
Visiting the gym was mentioned by just one in 20 people in the survey for Age UK Personal Alarms.
Boss Gordon Morris said: "It's fascinating to see what we cannot live without -- we continue to love a good read."
