A recent insight has revealed the state of mind of most GP's in the UK with close to 50% of them suffering from burnout.
The worst affected lot were the GPs offering their services in group practices and the ones seeing the same patients repeatedly.
The parameters used for assessing the frame of mind of GPs were - emotional fatigue, negativity, and reduced level of personal satisfaction.
Nearly 46% of the people who participated in the survey were found to be emotionally drained out. The study further revealed that male doctors most often harbored feelings of depersonalization, much more than their female counterparts.
The difference could be due to the fact that many women doctors worked part-time and therefore were less stressed out. Further, patience is a trait common to most women, and this might have helped them feel contented and satisfied in their profession.
