Calls Grow in Oz for Banning Kronic

Australias premier health association has called on the government to ban synthetic cannabis from being freely available

Australia's premier health association has called on the government to ban synthetic cannabis from being freely available after it was found that even minors were able to easily buy this drug.

The Australian Medical Association revealed that some of the popular synthetic cannabis versions such as Kronic also exhibit addictive nature with miners unable to kick the habit of smoking it in already dangerous working environments.

AMA WA president Dave Mountain said that rather than trying to urge the general population not to use such synthetic cannabis, the state government should instead ban such products and put them in the same category as other drugs of abuse.

"While it might be easier to call on people to be careful and to minimize potential harm there really is no other option but to ban their sale immediately so it matches the current approach to other drugs of abuse", Professor Mountain was quoted as saying by WA Today.
