Canadian Flower Girl Who Charmed Duchess Kate is Cancer Free

Cancer patient little Diamond Marshal, who was warmly hugged by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, during her royal tour of Canada in 2011, has been declared cancer free now.

The 6-year old had watched the royal wedding on TV and sent a letter to Make-a-Wish foundation to meet the bride. She was chosen by the foundation to hand the Duchess flowers in Calgary. The Duchess however, got down to kid level and hugged little Diamond.

Last week the little girl underwent a surgery for removal of tumors from her lungs and the doctors have now declared her cancer free. In January she will face a final round of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also not forgotten about Diamond. A palace spokesman, officially speaking on Their Royal Highnesses' behalf said, "(They) asked me to convey how pleased they are to hear the news and their best wishes to Diamond and her family at this happy time."
