Celebrate Holi With Some Safety Measures

Holi is a colorful festival celebrated to bid goodbye to winter and welcome spring. Traditionally Holi was celebrated with natural colors from flowers or even herbs, the natural colors had therapeutic value and beneficial for skin and health. NowHoli is celebrated with artificial colors and dyes.


Playing with artificial colors can aggravate the condition for those who are already suffering from respiratory diseases like asthma.

Dr Alok Agarwal, pediatric head at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, said, " with seasonal change, viral infection is on the rise. Therefore the chances of falling prey to infection after playing with colours also increases. Patients with bronchial asthma are the worst victims of upper respiratory infections during this season. So we put children suffering from asthma on preventive medicine till 15 days after Holi."
