Central Administrative Tribunal Seeks AIIMS Director's Reply on Former CVO's Plea

by Dr. Trupti Shirole on October 9, 2015 at 6:21 PM

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has sought a reply from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director M.C. Misra on a plea by a former AIIMS chief vigilance officer (CVO), Sanjiv Chaturvedi, seeking proceedings against the institute head.

Chaturvedi, currently deputy secretary at the institute, was removed as CVO by the AIIMS director in August 2014 before the completion of his tenure. He approached the tribunal on May 25, 2015, demanding that all work, for which deputy secretary's post at the AIIMS was created, should be allocated to him.

As per the union health ministry order dated June 23, 2011, an officer joining the post of deputy secretary was supposed to be given the post of CVO for several tasks, including monitoring and supervision of ongoing infrastructure projects at the institute.

Chaturvedi is a 2002-batch Indian Forest Service officer. He also demanded that the health ministry order should be immediately implemented as he was totally 'jobless' for the past one year after his removal from the CVO post.

The court fixed October 15, 2015, as the next date of hearing in the case.
