A US based nutritional advocacy group has slammed the soft drink giant Coca Cola for broadcasting an an ad that aired during NBC's Olympics featuring giant slalom winner Ted Ligety

According to The Washington Times, the ad that went on air had tags that read 'Ted Ligety drinks a coke before every race' and ' Superstition? Or Super Power?'

Jim O'Hara, health promotion policy director at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, said that the suggestions in the ad that strongly hinted on Ligety's success was due to his consumption of Coca-Cola, would have made a wrong impact on many young girls and boys.

The report also said that Mr. Ligety, who recently became the first American to take gold in the men's giant slalom, is a part of the Coca-Cola 'Four Pack' with figure skating legend Michelle Kwan, figure skating gold medalist Evan Lysacek and three-time world champion in para-snowboarding, Amy Purdy.
