Early Retirement on the Minds of Most GP's

A recent poll has found that one out of three GPs are seriously thinking of early retirement to avoid any alterations to their NHS pension scheme.

Even as ministers are considering increase in the retirement age of family doctors' from 60 to 65 and later to 68, many thousands of GPs are ready to reduce their losses by opting for an early retirement before the changes set in.

This may lead to a bad shortage of staff.
