Ebola Death Toll Jumps Over 10,000

The Ebola epidemic has reportedly claimed more than 10,000 lives, almost all of them in West Africa, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Thursday.

The UN body revealed that the three hardest-hit countries of Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia have collectively recorded 10,004 deaths.

Six deaths have been reported in Mali, one in the United States and eight in Nigeria, all of which have now been declared Ebola-free.
