A recent research reveals that nearly 50% of Australians run the risk of going through mental illness in their lifetime, gauging the stresses they face while working.
Sadly, most managers do not comprehend the enormity of the issue, though financially the economy is losing about $20 billion a year.

Professor Allan Fels, chair of the National Mental Health Commission said, "Businesses that invest in mental health are more productive, innovative and likely to recruit and retain the best and brightest people."
SANE Australia has come out with an online and personal training program to enable managers with the knowledge to support an employee with mental health issue.
"Business leaders care about the people they employ but if their managers don't know how to respond to mental health issues, the end result can be costly for everyone in both human and dollar terms."
