Even While On Holiday, Many Workers Continue To Work Outside of Office Hours
Workers are becoming slaves to the screen and are forgoing time with their families and friends to keep their workload under control, discovers a new study.
The survey of more than 1000 Australian workers found that about 50 percent of workers admitted they check in at the office on holiday, with 42 per cent saying they did a full day's work outside of office hours, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The poll conducted by Jive Software- which also included responses from more than 4000 workers in the US and UK- found that people all over the world were foregoing time with family and friends to keep up with their job.
It was found that despite the long hours, many felt they were not working smart enough.
About three quarters of people across all countries saying they could get five hours back if they were more productive.
