Excessive Smartphone Use in Kids Linked to Increased Risk of Myopia
Kids as young as seven may risk suffering from screen sightedness owing to excessive use of smartphones, a new study revealed.
According to David Allamby, founder of Focus Clinics, myopia in young adults and kids may rise by 50 per cent within the next decade and the trend led him to dub the condition 'screen sightedness,' the Daily Express reported
About 50 percent of all Brits have a smartphone and spend on average about two hours daily using them.
Research has shown that users keep their handsets only 18 - 30cm away from their faces.
Allamby added that the current generation of kids are most at risk of Myopia, with kids as young as seven being given their first smartphone.
