Health Minister V.S Vijay said that all Government Hospitals in Tamil Nadu would have an Insurance Ward under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Insurance Scheme.

The Nodal Officer must monitor the staff appointed by the insurance company and also ensure that medicines and equipment were available along with the other facilities. The insurance company would appoint a liaison officer.
There would be 30 to 40 beds in the Insurance Wards of all Government Hospitals in the State. Emergency cases would be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and after the patient has stabilized, they would be shifted to the Insurance Ward.
The Insurance Ward would have a separate reception area with adequate space and a separate entrance door marked as ‘Chief Minister's Insurance Ward.'
