Lung Cancer Awareness Month is celebrated annually across the globe in November. The Lung Cancer Awareness Month Coalition (LCAMC) is the nodal organization that organizes the activities throughout the month of November.

The Coalition consists of more than 20 global non-profit and research organizations, as well as advocacy groups that solely focus on cancers of the thorax. The activities of this Coalition are spearheaded by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC).

‘Lung Cancer Awareness Month is celebrated throughout the month of November every year. Its objective is to create awareness about the dangers of lung cancer among the public. It also highlights the importance of early detection and prompt treatment ’

Throughout November, the LCAMC proactively generates awareness among the global community about the vital need for risk reduction, early detection and treatment of lung cancer, which is the deadliest of all cancers. It also proactively educates doctors how to improve treatment outcomes for patients suffering from lung cancer.

This year, Lung Cancer Awareness Month is being sponsored by several leading pharmaceutical companies, such as Novocure, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lilly, Novartis, Takeda, Genentech, and Astra Zeneca.
