According to data collected from more than 120,000 singles who registered in the past six months by dating website eHarmony, outer Melbourne is also swarming with potential husbands.
The region in Mount Isa and Cloncurry, along with the greater Dandenong area in Melbourne, recorded the biggest number of single men in the list of "love hot-spots", the Sydney Morning Herald reported.hey made up 64 percent of people looking for love in both locations.
And there is a huge number of Queenslanders who are also single, with the results showing both sexes are 16 percent more likely to be looking for love than those in other parts of the country.
At the other end of the scale, habitants of Australia's regional areas are less likely to be alone, especially Northern Territorians who are apparently pairing up more than anyone else.
Compared to the national average, people in NSW are five percent less likely to be scouting for a partner.
Within the state however, Sydney is home to the most people from NSW wanting to find a hook-up, and the majority of those are in North Sydney, and the inner-city suburbs of Camperdown, Alexandria, Surry Hills, and Woolloomooloo.
In Queensland, the top suburbs for singles are Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast and New Farm in Brisbane.
Docklands and St Kilda in Melbourne had the most singles in Victoria, while Perth's Kings Park was the number one spot in WA.
Acton in the ACT and South Australia's North Adelaide recorded the highest number of bachelors and bachelorettes in those parts of the country.
