Immunization Program �Mission Indradhanush' Launched in Tiruchy, South India

Mission Indradhanush, an immunization program initiated by the Center, was launched in Tiruchy on April 7.

Universal immunization of all children under the age of two would be taken up in the district on a mission mode under the program.

Mission Indradhanush aims to cover all those children who are either not vaccinated or are partially vaccinated against seven vaccine preventable diseases such as diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles, and Hepatitis B.

Special camps would be held from April 7 to 13. Special camps were to be held under the program in April, May, June, and July. District Collector K.S. Palanisamy said the vaccines would be administered in the district through 222 camps to be held at government primary health centers, health sub-centers, anganwadi centers, urban primary health centers, and identified schools from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
