Infectious Diseases Kill Over 1000 Chinese

In January, a total of 488,271 cases of infectious diseases were reported in the Chinese, says the health ministry.

Among the cases, 2,319 were of Influenza A or H1N1, which killed nine people, Xinhua reported.

At least 1,147 deaths were caused by diseases like viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, dysentery and gonorrhea.
