Government-run hospitals and civic bodies in Delhi have been instructed to check on facilities to combat the mosquito-borne disease during rainy season.

"The hospitals have also been asked to collect figures on the availability of blood and testing kits," said a senior health ministry official. He added that the minister is likely to make surprise inspection of the four hospitals to review the preparedness.
The hospitals have been told that they should be cautious in case of an outbreak but at the same time ensure that there is no panic situation.
Nadda had earlier reviewed the Delhi’s civic bodies to tackle the situation and met the east Delhi mayor, Harsh Malhotra, and the south Delhi mayor, Subhash Arya, in this regard.
Delhi has reported 6 positive out of the 17 dengue cases this year. The health authorities fear that with the arrival of monsoon, the number of cases may increase. "The intermittent rains and high levels of humidity have led to an increase in the mosquito-breeding sites," said an official.
"We have created a special ward at Hindu Rao Hospital and Kasturba Hospital. Also, our domestic breeding checkers are visiting homes to check mosquito-breeding and challans have also been issued in some cases," the official added.
