Before you flinch at this idea, a French study has found that maggot therapy works wonders to clean wounds, much more than the standard surgical method.

When maggots were left to feed on dead and unhealthy tissue, it worked quicker and better than standard surgical therapy to remove unhealthy tissues from the wounds.

Researchers found that the participants who underwent maggot therapy for a week had lesser dead issue on their wounds than those who had undergone surgery to remove dead tissue.
