Following the footsteps of Gujarat FDCA, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has revealed that it will be starting an online license application facility for pharmacists in the state.

The new facility will be limited to pharmacists looking to apply for new licenses or renew their old licenses though the FDA revealed that other services will also be made available in the near future.

The joint commissioner of the Maharashtra FDA, O Sadhwani revealed that the latest move is to make the organization more user friendly along the lines of Gujarat FDCA.

"Maharashtra FDA has adopted the similar features of Gujarat FDCA and has already started the facility from the month of December itself. This helps the officers to get the information about the samples withdrawn from the market, communication facility is also possible related to the data which also enforces us to inform the applicants about the expiry date of licenses in the next month or in next 12 months", he said.
