Many Brits Not Walking Enough, Poll Finds

More than a quarter of Britons walk for less than an hour every week, a new poll conducted by a walking charity organization reveals.


Around 2,000 adults across Britain took part in the YouGov survey which also found that just over 43 percent admitting walking for less than two hours in a week despite government guidelines recommending that a person should walk for at least 150 minutes in a week.

The survey was carried for walking charity, The Ramblers, as part of their �Get Walking Week' event organized during 4-11 May.

"We want people all over Britain to join the walking revolution and take their first steps towards a healthier and happier lifestyle. Walking is one of the most accessible and achievable ways to truly conquer this inactivity pandemic in Britain, and we need to get started now", Ramblers chief executive, Benedict Southworth said.
