Mary Tyler Moore Recovering After Brain Surgery

Actress Mary Tyler Moore is "recovering nicely" after undergoing a four-hour operation to remove a tumour from her brain.

The TV veteran's spokesperson revealed last week that the star had been diagnosed with meningioma, a benign tumour of the brain's lining tissue, several years ago and had been monitored by doctors ever since.

Her physician decided it was time to take the 73-year-old into surgery, and the actress' publicist has confirmed that the procedure went well.

"According to her surgeon, she tolerated the procedure without difficulty and is recovering nicely with her husband at her bedside. (She) will require no additional treatment," Contactmusic quoted her rep as telling People.com.
