Incidence of Melanoma has gone down among young people in Victoria, Australia, but experts warn that it is affecting older men at increased rates.

The older people show the lack of care and caution of their youth in the increased rate of the disease attacking their age group. Whereas, with the younger generation who had grown up with sun-protection warnings, the of melanoma is falling down, according to Cancer Epidemiology Centre director Professor Graham Giles.
As the younger generation gets older then the increasing disease rates for older people would naturally drop off, concludes Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Associate Professor Grant McArthur. With persistent vigilance, he feels, the preventable cancer could be dealt with effectively.
