Misbranded, Unsafe and Substandard Food Items Sold in Haryana: Regulatory Authorities
The food and drugs administration department of Haryana, has tested several samples of loose and canned food and beverages and reported that they were unsafe, sub-standard and misbranded.
Anil Vij, Health Minister of Haryana, said that the samples tested from various parts of the state were found unsafe and that the state food and drugs administration department would initiate action against the companies concerned.
Samples of milk and milk-based sweets collected from Fatehabad, Abhinandan Desi Ghee collected from Kurukshetra was found to be substandard. Samples of mango juice collected from Panipat, ice-cream from Kurukshetra, three samples of mixed milk and cow milk from Kaithal and tomato juice at Palwal failed the test.
The health minister said that apart from this, the samples of mineral water 'Thanda Jal Brand' and 'Shri Om Brand' were found unsafe. Samples of sweetened carbonated water from 'Parcolime' were unsafe and two samples of Mirinda SCW of 'Coca Cola Company' collected from Hisar were found misbranded.
Samples of 'Doaba Desi Ghee', 'Easy Max Brand Desi Ghee' and flavored milk collected from Hisar, 'Leeladhar Desi Ghee' and 'Madhusudan Brand Desi Ghee' taken from Gurgaon and samples of sweetened carbonated beverage 'Mast 3 Orange' collected from Kurukshetra were found misbranded.
