Mums-To-Be in Danger Due to Overcrowding in British Hospitals

Experts have warned that the health of expectant mothers and their babies is in serious danger due to overcrowding of hospitals in Britain which sees a high number of mothers giving birth in the waiting room.
An internal report from the King's College Hospital in London admitted that women "regularly" go into labor in the waiting room itself since there is a severe shortage of beds in the maternity wards.
The report went on to add that over 40 such incidents have taken place in the past three months because there were not enough beds to take in all the patients.
"Increasing demand for use of the maternity services at King's has resulted in there being insufficient space to care for all women appropriately when giving birth. Women are laboring in the waiting room on a regular basis while waiting for a labor room, sometimes giving birth inappropriately in this area before a room is free", the report said.
